The giant spring tide is heading towards the sea
The moon rising up along with the rising tide

The waves carry the glowing lunar sprites
Leaving nowhere unlit by the moonlight

The sinuous river surrounding flower-blazing banks
Fragrant trees reflecting dewdrop-misting light

This flowing fog, moonlight blurred
That marble sand, moonlight obscured



With the night sky the river shares its hue
On the bright sky hangs the lonely moon



Why should I go?
How come I must leave my home?

Am I hated by the river, or did I do any harm to the moon?

These flowers. Are they scared of me?
What about these cute lunar sprites? Are they terrified?

Me, flowers, sprites
Don’t we look alike?

Is there something tearing us apart?
This invisible and irresistible grasp?

Will it haunt us forever? Will it be over soon?
All I want is to stay with the moon
